Getting Started
Junkyard Truck takes place around the year 2003 in the Pacific Northwest. The game begins with an email from Johnny Junks about a 1982 Diamondback truck which recently arrived at the Junkyard. The Diamondback is a legendary truck known for its durability. The player's objective is to buy this truck, get it running, and then use it to complete various objectives and jobs around the map. See Initial Repairs if you have trouble getting your truck started. The player must earn money to take care of basic needs, such as hydration, hunger, fuel, expenses for production jobs such as creating Moonshine, and costs related to maintaining and upgrading the Diamondback.

Saving
Saving is only available at the computer terminal located in the player's home garage, at the payphone at the auto parts store, the payphone at the junkyard, or the payphone in the scrap pile near the moonshine still.

Recovery/Tow Service
Breaking down or getting a vehicle stuck beyond all hope can happen very easily. The player is equipped with a Phone which provides several recovery options for a small fee.

Inventory
The player has a small inventory which can be accessed with (TAB). Items and cash can be added to the inventory by holding them and pressing (i) or (CenterMouse). Only small items can be added to the inventory.

The Diamondback requires very few repairs in order to get it running for the first time.

Crucial Parts
1x Cam Gear

1x Spark Plug Wires

These parts can be obtained from the junkyard or from the auto parts store.

To attach the cam gear, start by removing the valve cover. The cam gear attaches to the camshaft.

The spark plug wires need to be attached to the engine's distributor cap.

Semi-Crucial Parts
The engine will run after the previous two fixes, but it won't run optimally, and it won't run for very long.

1x Fan Clutch

1x Fan

1x Fan Belt

1x Air Filter(Carburetor)

1x Oil

2x Coolant

The existing fan clutch is garbage and will need to be removed. This part is attached to the water pump pulley.

The fan attaches to the fan clutch.

The air filter attaches to the carburetor.

Oil is poured into the engine through the valve cover's oil cap/inlet.

Coolant is poured into the radiator through the radiator cap/inlet.

Still Slow?
The stock tires should be replaced as soon as possible. Even with a powerful engine the truck won't perform well with stock tires.

What not to do
Don't ferment moonshine in a public area where the Sheriff might see you. If the Sheriff sees you near a bucket containing alcohol, you will be arrested and the bucket's contents will be emptied. The same applies to carrying or driving with crates of processed moonshine. Unlike your friends who sell it, you don't have a license to possess it.
Pay for your fuel after refuelling. Putting this off could result in a theft charge.
Evade arrest if you're carrying a load of moonshine. An evasion charge is probably cheaper than losing all of your moonshine to a traffic stop.

Bug Reporting
Don't ferment moonshine in a public area where the Sheriff might see you. If the Sheriff sees you near a bucket containing alcohol, you will be arrested and the bucket's contents will be emptied. The same applies to carrying or driving with crates of processed moonshine. Unlike your friends who sell it, you don't have a license to possess it.

Don't waste time paying for your fuel after refuelling.

Evade arrest if you're carrying a load of moonshine. An evasion charge is probably cheaper than losing all of your moonshine to a traffic stop.

Pay off your tickets. If you have too many outstanding warrants, the Sheriff will show up to your home when you are sleeping and arrest you.

Saving
Saving is only available at the computer terminal located in the player's home garage, at the payphone at the auto parts store, or at the payphone at the junkyard.

Help, I Lost A Critical Part

Bug Reporting
If you found a bug or want to suggest an improvement, let us know at https://discord.gg/zbSqEqU4Jc Bug reports get prioritized and put into a fix queue.

Moonshine is a strong homemade alcohol created using water, sugar, cornmeal, and yeast.

Distilling Moonshine
Moonshine is stored in jar crates which can be bought at the building west of the gas station. Full crates can be sold to Jake as part of his final mission.

Moonshine can be manufactured using items from the gas station, a bucket, and a distillery.

Bucket Location #1: At the moonshine distillery.

Bucket Location #2: Inside the blue cargo container west of town.

Bucket Location #3: Near the optional home to buy.

Recipe
Recipe given in the in-game moonshine journal:
6 packages of sugar
2 packages of cornmeal
1 packet of yeast
water
(Note: This is not an ideal recipe. Sugar will increase alcohol volume while compromising quality. Cornmeal will produce quality alcohol, but in lower volumes. A better recipe should use 6lbs of cornmeal and 2lbs of sugar.)

Water is obtained using the faucet at the garage or the faucet at the gas station.

Drop all solid ingredients into the bucket and place the bucket under a faucet.

Once the ingredients are combined in the bucket, place the lid on the bucket and it will eventually begin to make a bubbling noise. The fermentation will stop after about 24 in-game hours.

Distillery
Pour the bucket's contents into the makeshift cooker(keg) by opening the keg's lid and positioning the bucket close enough until you see the ✔️ symbol. The cooker can hold four buckets. To maximize profit, it is recommended you cook moonshine in batches of four buckets.

It is recommended you connect a fully-charged car battery to the water pump. This will help with cooling and increase the final quality of your moonshine. You can recharge any battery at the charger in your garage.

Turn on the propane tank valve to start burner.

Moonshine will accumulate in the output vat. To bottle your moonshine, drop a crate of empty jars into the vat and pick up the newly-formed crate of bottled moonshine. Enough moonshine needs to be present in the vat to create the full crate.

Keep an eye on your battery throughout the whole distilling process.

Full crates can be sold to Jake, who resides in the far North-Eastern part of the residential area. Completing Jake's quests is necessary for him to begin buying moonshine from the player.

Infusion
Moonshine can be infused with various fruit items found throughout the map. You will need an Infuser Module which can be bought from the table at Jiggs Casey's house. The infuser can be dragged and dropped between the thumper keg and the coil. Fruit items can be dragged and released into the attached infuser. The fruit in the diffuser will dissolve after a couple crates worth of moonshine have flowed through it. Allowing uninfused moonshine to mix with infused moonshine in the vat will dilute the infusion and can lead to a batch of regular moonshine. Mixing flavors will result in the dominant flavor presiding, so it's recommended to finish bottling up the vat before adding a different fruit.

Fruit
Blackberry bushes can be found in the junkyard and near the auto parts store. Not all blackberry bushes can be harvested. They will drop a bag of blackberries.

A lime tree can be found on the island in the lake.

An orange tree can be found off of a backroad near the bridge leading to the junkyard.

An ambrosia bush can be found near the cryptex puzzle in the North East part of the map.

Fruit will respawn after sleeping.

Location
It is recommended you have a vehicle with moderate upgrades and mud tires, as the road leading to the distillery is muddy. From town, follow the road to the water tower, and instead of turning left up the hill to the water tower, continue straight. At the end of this road you will find the distillery near the river side.

High Spirits Bar
The High Spirits bar can be unlocked by completing Jake's questline, selling him a batch of high quality moonshine, buying the black cargo container in town, then sleeping to advance the day. Tobacco and moonshine can be sold here for additional profit. The bar will also spawn the Texas Holdem NPCs.

Dumping Full Buckets
Contents of the bucket can be dumped into the blue barrel behind the garage. This can be useful if you get your ratios incorrect and would rather start over than go through the process of refining a dubious batch.

The Bootlegger NPC shows up at Jake's driveway shortly after speaking to Jake after his vandalism mission. The Bootlegger will remain in Jake's driveway until the player provides Jake with a high quality crate of moonshine, at which point he will suggest the player buy the black shipping crate in town. Once the shipping crate is purchased, Jake and the Bootlegger will convert the container into a small bar which serves as a new location for selling moonshine and tobacco at a higher price.

Saving
Saving is only available at the computer terminal located in the player's home garage, at the payphone at the auto parts store, or at the payphone at the junkyard.

Help, I Lost A Critical Part

Bug Reporting
If you found a bug or want to suggest an improvement, let us know at https://discord.gg/zbSqEqU4Jc Bug reports get prioritized and put into a fix queue.

The player must earn money to take care of basic needs, such as hydration, hunger, fuel, expenses for production jobs such as creating Moonshine, and costs related to maintaining and upgrading the Diamondback.

Saving
Saving is only available at the computer terminal located in the player's home garage, at the payphone at the auto parts store, or at the payphone at the junkyard.

Help, I Lost A Critical Part

Bug Reporting
If you found a bug or want to suggest an improvement, let us know at https://discord.gg/zbSqEqU4Jc Bug reports get prioritized and put into a fix queue.

The off road jack is a tool which comes with the Diamondback truck. You can find the jack attached to the inside of the truck bed. The off road jack is useful for changing tires and freeing your vehicle if it gets stuck. The off road jack can only be used on the Diamondback and the Dentside.

The V8 Engine is an aftermarket engine which can be assembled and dropped into the Diamondback for a significant increase in horsepower. Building a V8 is considerably more expensive than rebuilding a 22R, however the V8 engine is more powerful than a fully upgraded 22R with EFI and a turbocharger.

Block Location
*As of 1/18/2023, the V8 engine block is found within the abandoned Dentside pickup truck.

In earlier versions, the V8 engine block could be found in a shipping container West of town.

Parts
Aside from the block, all parts needed to assemble the engine can be found in the Auto Parts Store.

Parts Shared with the 22r Engine
The starter motor and plug wires are interchangeable between the 22R engine and the V8. The V8 also bolts to the stock transmission, however this will likely change as early access progresses. The 22R and V8 both use the same radiator, however both require their own radiator hoses.

Notes
Jimmy Junks will not inspect or fix the Diamondback with a V8 engine.
Additional upgrades to the V8, such as high compression pistons and a twin turbo kit will become available during early access.

The Hammerhead is a motocross bike you can buy from the junkyard. After a small amount of progression through Jake's questline you will get an email from Johnny Junks stating that he has a salvageable motocross bike.

The Hammerhead costs $1200 and does not have an engine. Some of the 250cc engine parts can be found in the junkyard and you will likely need to check back on different days to get all parts. The frequently serviced parts(head gasket, cylinder, piston, and clutch) can be bought at New Age Auto Parts. The engine can still run without a valve cover, clutch cover, flywheel cover, or clutch over, however fluid loss will cause the engine to overheat.
